Rookie of the Year
The scores will be used from all single divisions.
Only the best score of the handler each day of Nationals will be used from the singles divisions. Rookie of the Year will be determined by the following criteria:
All of these scores will be added together with good sportsmanship being a strong additional factor. Only one score per day will be used. In the event there is a tie of total scores, the first tie breaker will be the total time from the run used on the third day, with the quickest time winning. If still tied, the second tie breaker will be the time of the first bird bagged from the run used on the third day.
The handler must exhibit the following qualities:
Be a first time competitor at the NAGDA Nationals
Be a positive influence and role model
Be willing to help others
Show good sportsmanship in and out of competition. Including on Social Media platforms.
Treat their dog(s) with the respect and compassion they deserve
and promote and represent the NAGDA Organization in a positive way.

2024 - Emma Hollenback
2024 Rookie of the Year is Emma Hollenback.
Emma participated in the Amateur Womens Division with Maggie.

2023 - Jason Camp
2023 Rookie of the Year is Jason Camp.
Jason with his dog Gwendolyn finished in the Top 5 in Amateur Pointing. He also ran his other dogs Louie, Alice and Wilson in Amateur Pointing.

2022 - Ryan Studer
2022 Rookie of the Year is Ryan Studer.
Ryan along with his dogs Bow and Chewy placed in the Top 5 in the Amateur Pointing and Open Flushing Divisions.
